The decisions to learn, or not to learn; to grow in capability or stay in the safety of known abilities; to open our minds or keep them closed; these decisions are made in the private recesses of each person’s mind. As leaders however, we can encourage our staff to take the risk that learning and change involves by creating the conditions for learning:
- Psychological Safety - a culture that welcomes ‘mis’takes and awkwardness as signs of learning in action.
- Opportunities to learn, explore, discuss, clarify rationale and intention, have fun!
